Dylan, Bob - (self-titled) LP

This self-titled LP plays like a door slammed on the way out, stitched together from outtakes after Dylan left Columbia for Asylum Records without his involvement or approval. It leans mostly on 1970 sessions for New Morning plus a couple of leftovers from 1969's Self Portrait sessions, all cover versions and traditional songs, nothing he wrote himself. Critics tore into it on arrival and it has stayed one of the more maligned entries in his catalog, though it went gold anyway, an odd footnote that outsold its own bad reputation.
