Self Portrait 2LP

Self Portrait was Dylan's tenth studio album and only his second double LP after Blonde on Blonde, and critics came at it like static cutting a clean signal, Greil Marcus opening his Rolling Stone review with "What is this shit?" None of that touched the charts: it hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and topped the UK chart outright. Years later the Bootleg Series entry Another Self Portrait pulled unfinished takes from the same sessions and forced a real second look at what Dylan had actually been doing.
