Laura-Mary Carter designs every sleeve Blood Red Shoes puts out, which tells you as much about the band as the music does. The Brighton duo formed in 2004 out of the wreckage of earlier bands, moved through XL Recordings and V2/Universal, then started their own label, Jazz Life, in 2014, and have self-produced ever since. Stay Lonely keeps that hands-on approach going, the scrappy mix of alternative rock, garage rock and noise pop the band's leaned on since Box of Secrets, packaged by the person who plays on it.
