East of the River Nile LP

Augustus Pablo cut East of the River Nile across four different Kingston rooms (Harry J's, Channel One, King Tubby's, and Black Ark), letting the melodica do the singing over rhythms built by musicians pulled straight out of the Wailers, bassist Aston "Family Man" Barrett among them. King Tubby mixed most of it, with Lee Perry adding his own touches, and Trouser Press later called the result "quintessential Pablo." Dub instrumentals rarely hold together as full albums; this one does, front to back.
