Discos Fuentes started in 1934 and grew into the label people call Colombia's answer to Motown; Afrosound was its house band for Afro-Latin rock, built in the early 1970s to run psychedelic guitar, in the vein of Santana and Osibisa, straight through cumbia rhythm. La Danza de los Mirlos was cut in 1973 and has been turning up on pressings from Peru to Ecuador ever since, with Spain's Vampisoul putting it back into wider circulation. Nobody hides a record like this; it just keeps resurfacing.
