Dur-Dur Band ruled Mogadishu's club scene through the 1980s, folding echoes of Michael Jackson, Santana, and Bollywood soundtracks into a funk, disco, and soul mix before Somalia's 1991 civil war sent the members to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, and the United States. Analog Africa has been rebuilding the catalog piece by piece, after 2018's Volume 1, Volume 2 & Previously Unreleased Tracks and the 2019 set Mogadisco, and this one collects the band's Volume 3 and Volume 4 sessions, recorded in Mogadishu in the late 1980s.
