Released via Ninja Tune, Qualm has a duality that Hauff enjoys: the German word kvalm translates as fumes. The English meaning refers to a feeling of doubt or worry. Qualm is unapologetically raw and a return to her original MO - jamming on her machines.
Influenced by AOR and jazz, Brettin began working on Mild High Club material in 2012 by himself, using guitars, keyboards, computers, and a four-track recorder, while shuttling between Chicago, Baltimore, and Los Angeles.
