About Weyes Blood
Weyes Blood is the recording project of Natalie Mering, an American singer-songwriter born in 1988. After early work in experimental and noise music, she developed Weyes Blood into a vehicle for lush, orchestral songwriting, reaching wide acclaim with Titanic Rising in 2019. Recording for Sub Pop, she has become one of the most celebrated voices in contemporary art pop and chamber folk.
Sound and style
Weyes Blood's music blends chamber pop, folk, and art pop with the warmth of 1970s soft rock and the grandeur of classic orchestral arrangements. Mering's deep, clear voice and cinematic, often melancholic songwriting, addressing themes of love, technology, and existential anxiety, give the project its distinctive, timeless character.
