About Tycho
Tycho is the musical project of Scott Hansen, an American musician, producer, and graphic designer based in San Francisco. Hansen began Tycho in the early 2000s, building it from a solo studio endeavor into a project that also performs live with a full band. He is equally known for his visual design work under the moniker ISO50, and the Tycho aesthetic unites his music and art. The project records for Ghostly International.
Sound and style
Tycho's music spans ambient, downtempo, and electronic styles, characterized by warm analog synths, gentle guitar, steady rhythms, and a hazy, sunlit atmosphere. The sound is melodic and immersive, frequently described as evoking nostalgia and calm, and has made Tycho a prominent name in modern instrumental electronic music.
