About Tropical Fuck Storm
Tropical Fuck Storm formed in Australia in 2017, founded by Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin, who had previously led the acclaimed Australian band The Drones. The group, completed by Erica Dunn and Lauren Hammel, quickly became a critically celebrated force in Australian underground rock, known for their confrontational and inventive output.
Sound and style
Tropical Fuck Storm play experimental, noise-inflected art rock and post-punk, combining dissonant guitars, off-kilter rhythms, and layered vocals with darkly satirical, politically and apocalyptically themed lyrics. Their dense, unpredictable arrangements and biting commentary have made them a distinctive voice in contemporary experimental rock.
