About Thee Sacred Souls
Thee Sacred Souls formed in San Diego, California in the late 2010s. The trio consists of vocalist Josh Lane, bassist Sal Samano, and drummer Alex Garcia. They were signed to Daptone Records, the label known for its analog soul and funk revival roster, and quickly gained attention for their authentic vintage soul sound, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2022.
Sound and style
Thee Sacred Souls play sweet soul and Chicano soul, reviving the tender, slow-burning R&B and lowrider-soul ballad traditions of the 1960s and 1970s. Built on Lane's warm vocals and a classic rhythm section recorded in Daptone's analog style, their music emphasizes romance, smoothness, and throwback production.
