Rüfüs Du Sol formed in Sydney, Australia in 2010 around Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt. The band was initially known as Rüfüs in Australia but added Du Sol for international markets due to a name conflict with another act. They have been based in Los Angeles since 2017, where they launched their own Rose Avenue Records label.
