Benjamin Lasky, performing as Quadeca, was born in Los Angeles, California on September 13, 2000. He launched his recording career as a teenager YouTuber in the mid-2010s with diss track material before pivoting to more serious experimental hip hop and indie pop in the late 2010s. His 2022 album I Didn't Mean to Haunt You - a concept album about death, grief, and the afterlife - received critical attention and established him as one of the most distinctive contemporary experimental hip hop artists.
