Porter Weaver Robinson was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 15, 1992. He launched his recording career as a teenager in the early 2010s with electro house and complextro material. His 2014 album Worlds marked a creative pivot toward more melodic, vocal-driven electronic music with anime and J-pop influences - establishing him as one of the most distinctive contemporary electronic music producers. His 2021 follow-up Nurture - released seven years later amid Robinson's depression and creative struggles - featured direct vocal contributions from Robinson himself and addressed mental health themes.
