Parquet Courts is a Brooklyn post-punk and indie rock band formed in 2010 around dual frontmen Andrew Savage and Austin Brown. Parquet Courts formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2010 around Andrew Savage and Austin Brown (Savage formerly of the Denton, Texas band Teenage Cool Kids). Andrew's brother Max Savage joined as drummer, with Sean Yeaton on bass completing the four-member lineup. Their 2012 debut Light Up Gold on Savage's own Dull Tools label brought them critical attention. They have continued releasing material across multiple decades with stylistic exploration - their 2018 album Wide Awake! (produced by Danger Mouse / Brian Burton) marked a creative pivot toward dance-rock and post-punk-funk influences. They occasionally release material under the variant spelling Parkay Quarts (for their more experimental and lo-fi material). They have been associated with the contemporary Brooklyn indie rock scene alongside contemporaries like Real Estate, Beach Fossils, and others.
