ODESZA is the Bellingham, Washington electronic duo of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, formed in 2012 after the two met at Western Washington University. About ODESZA

ODESZA formed in Bellingham, Washington in 2012 around Harrison Mills (BeachesBeaches) and Clayton Knight (Catacombkid), who met while attending Western Washington University. They launched their own label Foreign Family Collective and have built their audience through extensive live touring (with reputation for elaborate festival performances). Their 2014 album In Return brought them commercial breakthrough. Their 2017 album A Moment Apart reached number three on the Billboard 200. Their 2022 album The Last Goodbye reached number nine on the Billboard 200. They have been associated with the contemporary indie electronic and chillwave scenes alongside contemporaries like Bonobo, Tycho, and Pretty Lights.

Sound and style

ODESZA's sound combines indie electronic, chillwave, electronic, dance, EDM, downtempo, ambient, and tropical house with extensive sample integration (use of vocal samples, often manipulated to atmospheric effect), atmospheric production approaches, and arrangements drawing on contemporary electronic, chillwave, and indie pop influences.
