About Milky Chance
Milky Chance formed in Kassel, Germany in 2012 around high school classmates Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch. Their 2013 self-released single Stolen Dance became a international viral hit after extensive Bandcamp and YouTube circulation, with the band subsequently signing with Lichtdicht (their own label) and Vertigo Berlin / Republic for international distribution. Antonio Greger joined as a touring member in 2015 and has been central to the live lineup. They have continued releasing material across multiple decades.
Sound and style
Milky Chance's sound combines indie folk, indie rock, electronic, folktronica, alternative pop, and reggae fusion with Rehbein's distinctive vocal delivery, blend of acoustic and electronic arrangements, and lyrical content addressing relationships and personal experience drawing on contemporary indie folk traditions alongside electronic dance music influences.
