About Miike Snow

Miike Snow formed in 2007 around the Swedish production duo Bloodshy & Avant (Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg, who had extensive credits including Britney Spears's Toxic, 2003) and American singer-songwriter Andrew Wyatt. The band's name is reportedly a misspelling of Mike Snow, a friend of the band. Their self-titled debut Miike Snow (2009) - featuring the international hit Animal - became a defining document of the early-2010s indie electropop scene. Wyatt has had parallel work as a songwriter and producer (including collaborations with Bradley Cooper on the A Star Is Born soundtrack, 2018, with Wyatt co-writing Shallow and winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2019).

Sound and style

Miike Snow's sound combines indie pop, electropop, synth-pop, alternative pop, indie electronic, and dream pop with Wyatt's distinctive vocal delivery, Karlsson and Winnberg's polished electronic production, and arrangements drawing on classic 1970s and 1980s pop alongside contemporary electronic pop influences.
