About Mannequin Pussy

Mannequin Pussy formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2010 around Marisa Dabice and Athanasios Paul. The band signed with Tiny Engines for their early catalog and moved to Epitaph Records for Patience (2019) and subsequent material. Maxine Steen joined as guitarist in 2018. Their 2024 album I Got Heaven received critical attention as part of the contemporary alternative rock and punk revival.

Sound and style

Mannequin Pussy's sound combines punk rock, alternative rock, hardcore punk, indie rock, post-hardcore, noise rock, and shoegaze with Dabice's distinctive vocal delivery (combining sung passages with shouted hardcore vocals), dense layered guitar arrangements, and lyrical content addressing relationships, feminism, mental health, and personal experience.
