About Lorna Shore
Lorna Shore formed in Warren County, New Jersey in 2010. They signed with Nuclear Blast Records for their later catalog. The band has rotated through multiple vocalists - most notably CJ McCreery (departed 2019 amid abuse allegations) and Will Ramos joining in 2021 with the EP And I Return to Nothingness. The single To the Hellfire (2021) became viral, bringing them new commercial attention. Their 2022 album Pain Remains has been widely cited as one of the most important contemporary deathcore albums.
Sound and style
Lorna Shore's sound combines deathcore, symphonic deathcore, blackened deathcore, extreme metal, and metalcore with Will Ramos's distinctive extreme vocal delivery (combining guttural lows, mid-range screams, and pig squeals), elaborate orchestral arrangements, and aggressive contemporary deathcore production approaches.
