About Little Simz
Simbiatu Abisola Abiola Ajikawo, performing as Little Simz, was born in Islington, London on February 23, 1994. She is of Yoruba Nigerian heritage. She launched her recording career as a teenager via her own AGE 101 Music label. Her work has been independent across her catalog, with extensive critical attention building progressively across her albums. Her 2021 album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert won the 2022 Mercury Prize and the 2022 Brit Award for Best New Artist - making her one of the few independent British rappers to achieve mainstream British music industry recognition. She has also appeared in the Netflix series Top Boy as the character Shelley.
