About LANY
LANY formed in Los Angeles in 2014 around Paul Klein (originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma) and the LA-based duo of Les Priest and Jake Goss. The band's name LANY is variously interpreted as Los Angeles New York, both initialled references to the two coastal cities where the band has been based. Their self-titled debut LANY (2017) was a commercial breakthrough. Les Priest departed the band in 2022, with Klein and Goss continuing as a duo.
Sound and style
LANY's sound combines synth-pop, indie pop, alternative pop, electropop, and dream pop with Klein's distinctive vocal delivery, atmospheric synthesizer-driven production, and lyrical content addressing relationships and emotional vulnerability.
