About Kaleo
Kaleo formed in Mosfellsbær, Iceland in 2012. The band relocated to Austin, Texas in 2015 for their international career launch. They signed with Atlantic Records for A/B (2016), with the single Way Down We Go reaching international audiences. The band has continued releasing material across multiple decades with extensive touring.
Sound and style
Kaleo's sound combines blues rock, alternative rock, rock, folk rock, soul, and Americana with JJ Julius Son's distinctive vocal delivery and arrangements drawing on classic rock, blues, and broader American roots music traditions alongside the band's Nordic background.
