Jeff Rosenstock was born in Long Island, New York on April 30, 1982. He launched his recording career with the ska punk band the Arrogant Sons of Bitches (1999-2006) before forming Bomb the Music Industry! in 2005. Bomb the Music Industry! pioneered the pay-what-you-want digital music model through Rosenstock's Quote Unquote Records - one of the earliest implementations of this distribution approach for new music. He dissolved Bomb the Music Industry! in 2014 and launched his solo catalog with We Cool? (2015). His album POST- (released for free on January 1, 2018) became a critical and commercial breakthrough. He has continued releasing material with Polyvinyl, alongside extensive parallel work - including composing the theme to the Cartoon Network series Craig of the Creek and the animated series Steven Universe Future.
Jeff Rosenstock's sound combines pop punk, ska punk, indie rock, alternative rock, and punk rock with his distinctive emotionally direct vocal delivery, anthemic arrangements, and lyrical content addressing mental health, capitalism, contemporary politics, and personal experience. His work has been a defining template for contemporary DIY punk and pop punk.
