Indigo De Souza was born in 1997 and raised in Spruce Pine, North Carolina by her artist mother (whose paintings have appeared on her album covers). She is currently based in Asheville, North Carolina. She launched her recording career in 2017 with the independent release of I Love My Mom (later expanded and re-released by Saddle Creek in 2021). She signed with Saddle Creek for Any Shape You Take (2021), with her work earning critical attention.
