Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973. Ann Wilson joined as vocalist that year; her sister Nancy Wilson joined in 1974, beginning the partnership that has anchored the band throughout their entire career. After early commercial success with Dreamboat Annie (1975) on the Canadian Mushroom label, the band moved through Portrait and Epic before their 1980s pop rock peak on Capitol Records (the 1985 self-titled album and Bad Animals 1987 produced multiple major hits). They have continued releasing material across multiple decades, with extensive Wilson sister side and solo projects (The Lovemongers and others). They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
