Grizzly Bear formed in Brooklyn in 2002 around Edward Droste's bedroom recording project, expanding into a full band with the additions of Chris Taylor, Daniel Rossen, and Christopher Bear by 2005. They signed with Warp Records for Yellow House (2006) and continued through Shields (2012) and Painted Ruins (2017). Members have pursued solo and side-project work - Daniel Rossen released his solo debut You Belong There (2022) and was also half of the duo Department of Eagles. The band has been inactive in recent years.
