About Dangerdoom
Dangerdoom was the collaboration between Daniel Dumile (MF DOOM, 1971-2020) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse). Their album The Mouse and the Mask was released on Epitaph Records and Lex Records in October 2005, featuring extensive samples from Adult Swim cartoon programming (Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and others) alongside Danger Mouse's production and DOOM's rapping. Guest appearances included Talib Kweli, Cee-Lo Green, and Ghostface Killah.
Sound and style
Dangerdoom's sound combined East Coast hip hop, alternative hip hop, and underground hip hop with Danger Mouse's signature sample-heavy production. MF DOOM's signature wordplay and persona work anchored the project lyrically.
