Chiodos was an American post-hardcore and screamo band formed in Davison, Michigan in 2001. All's Well That Ends Well (2005) and Bone Palace Ballet (2007) are the essentials — Craig Owens' theatrical vocals and Bradley Bell's piano set them apart from the mid-2000s pack. Chiodos formed in Davison, Michigan in 2001. The band became part of the broader mid-2000s American post-hardcore and screamo scene, signing with Equal Vision Records for their debut All's Well That Ends Well (2005). Vocalist Craig Owens departed in 2009 and was replaced by Brandon Bolmer for Illuminaudio (2010); Owens returned in 2012 and the band released Devil (2014) on Razor & Tie. The band has been on indefinite hiatus since the mid-2010s, with members involved in other projects including D.R.U.G.S. and Cinematic Sunrise.
Chiodos' sound combined post-hardcore, screamo, progressive rock, and emo with theatrical vocal performances alternating between screams and clean melodic singing. Bradley Bell's piano and keyboards added a distinctive symphonic dimension that distinguished the band from many contemporary post-hardcore acts.
