Chevelle formed in Grayslake, Illinois in 1995 around brothers Pete Loeffler and Sam Loeffler, with a third brother Joe Loeffler on bass through 2005. Joe Loeffler left in 2005 and was replaced by Dean Bernardini. They signed with the Christian-affiliated Squint Entertainment for their debut Point #1 (1999) before moving to Epic Records for the commercial success of Wonder What's Next (2002), which reached the Billboard 200 top 15 and went platinum. The band has continued releasing material across multiple decades.
