About Chet Faker

Nick Murphy was born in Melbourne, Australia on November 14, 1988. He began releasing music as Chet Faker in 2011, with his cover of Blackstreet's No Diggity attracting early viral attention. His debut album Built on Glass (2014) on Future Classic became a major Australian release and an international success. He retired the Chet Faker name in 2016 and recorded as Nick Murphy until 2020, when he resumed the Chet Faker name. Hotel Surrender (2021) marked his return to the moniker.
