Bush formed in London in 1992. The original lineup featured Gavin Rossdale, Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons, and Robin Goodridge. They signed with Trauma Records in the US (the same label that signed No Doubt) and released their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994; the album sold over six million copies in the U.S. The band achieved much greater commercial success in the United States than in their native UK. They have continued releasing material across multiple decades with various lineup configurations around Rossdale.
Bush's sound combines post-grunge, alternative rock, and hard rock with British rock songwriting sensibility. Their 1994 debut drew strong stylistic comparisons to American grunge acts, with later albums incorporating broader rock and electronic influences.
