Beatrice Laus was born in Iloilo, Philippines on June 3, 2000 and moved to London with her family at age three. She began recording and uploading songs to Bandcamp and SoundCloud as a teenager, with Coffee (2017) becoming her early viral breakthrough. She signed with Dirty Hit Records (label home of The 1975, who have toured with her extensively) and released her debut album Fake It Flowers in 2020. Her subsequent albums Beatopia (2022) and This Is How Tomorrow Moves (2024) have continued her commercial and critical ascent.
Beabadoobee's sound combines indie rock, bedroom pop, and 1990s-influenced alternative rock, with influences from Pavement, Elliott Smith, The Cardigans, and Mazzy Star.
