Angel Du$T formed in Baltimore in 2013 as a side project for Justice Tripp of Trapped Under Ice and Daniel Fang of Turnstile. The band has since become a primary creative outlet for Tripp, who handles vocal duties, with a rotating cast of collaborators that has at various points included members of Turnstile (Brendan Yates, Pat McCrory, Franz Lyons) and other Baltimore hardcore scene musicians. They run the Pop Wig label, which has released material by Turnstile and Angel Du$T alongside other artists.
Angel Du$T's sound has shifted markedly across releases, beginning with melodic hardcore and pop punk and gradually incorporating power pop, alternative rock, and indie rock influences. Their work draws on a wide range of touchpoints from 1980s post-hardcore and 1990s alternative rock to contemporary indie pop.
