About Amyl & The Sniffers
Amyl & The Sniffers formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2016. The band, fronted by Amy Taylor, became known for their high-energy live performances and pub-rock-inflected style. They signed with Rough Trade Records (international) and ATO Records (US), releasing their self-titled debut album in 2019. Their second album Comfort to Me (2021) and third album Cartoon Darkness (2024) have continued the band's commercial and critical ascent.
Sound and style
Amyl & The Sniffers' sound combines punk rock, Australian pub rock, hard rock, and garage rock with Amy Taylor's brash, charismatic vocal performances. The band draws on Australian rock traditions (Cosmic Psychos, Rose Tattoo, Cold Chisel) along with first-wave punk and hardcore influences.
