About Almost Monday

Almost Monday formed in San Diego, California in 2015 around three high school friends from the city's North County area: Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Cole Clisby (guitar), and Luke Fabry (bass). Daugherty and Fabry grew up together; Clisby joined after meeting them through a shared interest in surfing. The band's name comes from an alternative to their original proposed name The Mondays. They signed with Hollywood Records and built their following through singles, EPs, and touring throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Sound and style

Almost Monday's sound combines indie pop, indie rock, and alternative pop with surf-inspired guitar work and pop-rock production. Their work draws on 1980s and 1990s California pop and rock traditions while incorporating contemporary indie songwriting. Critical reception has frequently noted the band's beachy, sun-soaked atmosphere and pop hooks.
