Adrianne Lenker was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 9, 1991, and grew up partly in Minnesota. She studied at Berklee College of Music and began releasing solo recordings in 2014. In 2015 she co-founded Big Thief with Buck Meek, Max Oleartchik, and James Krivchenia. Her solo work has appeared on Saddle Creek and 4AD in parallel with Big Thief's catalog on the same labels.
