On December 6, Sub Pop re-issued seven titles from Denver’s legendary grunge/punk band The Fluid. Sounding better than ever, the songs have been extensively worked over by band members and long-time grunge producer, Jack Endino (he produced The Fluid’s 1989 release, “Roadmouth”, and titles by Nirvana, Mudhoney, L7 and dozens of others).
Wax Trax’s connection to The Fluid is deep and goes a long way back. Of the five members of The Fluid, four were in early 80s bands that Wax Trax put out on 7” singles through our in-house record label called Local Anesthetic: we published not one but two singles by the Frantix (with future Fluid guitarist Ricky Kulwicki and bassist Matt Bischoff); and one single by White Trash (with future Fluid guitarist James Clower and drummer Garrett Shavlik). Those singles have been long out of print.
On stage, The Fluid was a monster: a thick, churning mix of rumbling bass, crownfire guitar, train wreck drumming and singer John Robinson’s chthonic howl. In particular, I was in awe of Ricky’s presence, his feet rooted like sequoias, his arm windmilling like a tornado, his shaggy hair flying: Nureyev with a chainsaw ripping through the swans.
The Fluid broke up in 1993 but in 1989, at the height of their powers and in support of their then new LP, “Roadmouth”, the band hit the road for their first, and only, European tour. DA Wilkins, a long time Wax Trax employee and a kind of superfan of The Fluid, asked Ricky to keep a diary of their days and nights on the road that we would then publish in our fanzine, Waste Paper.
Ricky did. And how! As you will read below, Ricky puts it all in: ups, downs, highlights, lowlights, triumphs and miseries. And beer. For all of you who have fantasized about the Rock ‘n’ Roll life, and for those of you who already know what it really is, Ricky’s notes below will ring all too true. Ricky is by turns funny, scabrous, pissed-off, worn out, excited, surprised in a good way and surprised in a bad way. But always ready… for the band, for the road. For Rock n Roll. Sadly, Rick Kulwicki passed away in 2011.
Here at Wax Trax, we are especially happy to see his memory live on in these fine re-issues of The Fluid from Sub Pop Records.
“WHERE THE HELL IS JOHN?”; OR, THE FLUID SOAK EUROPE
A diary of the tour by Ricky Kulwicki
[Originally published in Waste Paper, 1989]
A few days before we were to depart, DA asked me to keep a tour diary of our upcoming European dates Hey, anything for Wilkie! And even if you couldn’t care less you can at least laugh at us cuz every time we go out on the road something shitty happens: Van breakdowns, rip-off’s, illness and just about anything else you’d care to mention. We’ve been through it it all, or will sooner or later.
Such is the life of a travelling freak show trying anything possible to be heard the world over.
At this point we are getting adequate support from our record labels, SubPop in Seattle and Glitterhouse in West Germany [editor’s note– yep, this tour took place just months before the Berlin Wall fell]. Together, the labels funded the money for us to record another LP and fly to Europe. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention our new Corvettes, blank checks and personal 747 for travel. Yep, in order for us to play ya gotta dig real deep and pay.
No, actually I consider myself quite fortunate to have the opportunity and backing to do this. Nobody’s getting rich off this but that’s not the primary concern. Hell, just ask anyone who doesn’t have it and they’ll always tell you money sucks. Amen. We’ve got just enough to do this and come back to Denver just the way we left.
Enough of this babbling, Just the facts ma’am. We’re touring with Loveslug, another Glitter house band that hails from Amsterdam, We’ll fly into Amsterdam. and play eight shows in Holland. After that it’s twenty in a row, mainly in Germany, with others in Austria and Switzerland as well.
March 25, 1989, Denver, CO
We’ll have to van it to Virginia where we will take a flight from DC to JFK in NYC to leave the USA on TWA, OK? So we split on Saturday night. This way we don’t have to see Kansas. Are we clever, or what? We make it to Virginia in two days non-stop driving and stay at James’ Aunt’s cabin. She lives in the hills just outside of Woodstock and the Shenandoah river runs right by her front yard.
March 28, in the hills of Virginia
Hmmm…she has a canoe. Why not?!
Ever see the movie, “Deliverance”? So James, John, Matthew [sounds like some kinda biblical adventure here — DA] and I all decide that our vessel can easily hold all four of us plus a case of beer to balance everything out. Being the rivermen that we are, it just wouldn’t be right unless we sank the damn thing at least once, so we did!
What can I say, that low hanging tree branch saw us coming. First things first SAVE THE BEER!! We managed to get over to shore to empty the canoe of water. Is that banjo music I hear?
“Hey Banjo Boy, tune that thing up!” So we’re sitting in some brush trying to dry off and smoke our drenched tobacco Tom Sawyer-style when, and this is the truth, we hear gunfire! “Holy Shit! I didn’t mean it, Banjo Boy, just kiddin’ bro’!” Good clean fun.
Next day we arrive at Dulles and then on to JFK. Next stop: Amsterdam! Long flight, but we arrive safely and are picked up by Tony and Frank, Loveslug’s leader and drummer, respectively. The other Slugs are bassist Mike and guitarist Dekel. Good people! We don’t have to play for a couple of days. We spend our time checking out the city and resting up. If you ever have the chance, check out Amsterdam. It is truly a great city. [I’ve heard some swell stories about hash, girls in nun outfits and donkeys… DA]
March 31, Drieluik concert hall, Zaandam, Netherlands
Our first show. First day with rental vans, two Italian vans made by Fiat– pieces of shit. They’re new vans, but they’re made as cheaply as possible. They are 9-seaters with some room in the back for gear, so it’ll be a tight squeeze as there are 14 people going to the show. Upon arrival, we are fed good food and given as much beer as we can stomach.
Loveslug opens up and does a great show. Our first show on their equipment and it’s excellent. Great show! Afterward, we drink beer for free until the owner informs us that it’s way past closing time and time to go.
Back to Amsterdam to crash.
April 1, Paard concert hall, Den Haag, Netherlands
We are welcomed at the club with an enormous food spread and two crates of beer. This is great! Both bands play to about thirty people or less. Wow, what fun. After we’re done the whole place fills up for “Disco Night.” Oh well, we get our guarantee and head back to Amsterdam. Sleep.
April 2, Parkhof concert hall, Alkmaar, Netherlands
CANCELLED!! Oh well, that’s okay as we sit down and relax while watching old, rare videos of the Stooges, MC5, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Remones, Sex Pistols, Jam and Dead Boys. [If this date was April 1st I’d swear Ricky was makin’ all this up to piss me off – DA]. The Dutch seem to really be into slasher flicks and are particularly into America’s violence: Ted Bundy, Jim Jones, John Gacy, etc. You know, the typical all-american serial killers. They know each and everyone of them by name! Check out the movie “The Killing Of America” sometime. They made us watch it along with more of the same. It makes you feel great to be an American alright.
April 3, Simplon Poppodium, Groningen, Netherlands
First we soundcheck and then head off to eat at a Chinese restaurant. Try ordering Chinese food from a Dutch menu sometime!
It turns out to be a great show and we blow the roof off the place. They’re probably still fixing it as we speak. A video crew came to tape the show. They used two cameras and the whole show was edited right on the spot. Excellent camera work and song titles for each song. Amazing!
Back to Amsterdam to sleep.
April 5, Korsakoff night club, Amsterdam, Netherlands
No travel tonight and that’s great. Reinhard Holstein, owner of Glitter house Records and Howl fanzine (our sponsor and garage band guru) shows up. We eat pizza and talk about the last time we were with him in San Francisco with Dan and Sumo.
People from DC’s Soulside and LA’s Detonators show up and we all have a good time. Krazy show! Beer all over the place and John goes ape-shit. He even gets sucker-punched during one of his many journeys through the human jungle. He doesn’t lose any teeth but definitely a lot of skin. We left enough graffiti in there to cover Denver.
April 7, Doornroosje concert hall, Nijmegen, Netherlands
We unload, do the soundcheck and wait for our food. It’s gonna be pizza, yea! So we play foosball and drink coffee while waiting. Finally, the food comes. We are all sat down at this large table and 10 or so 12″ pizzas are passed around. Every one of them has a sunny-side up egg splashed on top of it. Eggs? On pizza?! I hate eggs!! Oh well, I guess Ricky doesn’t eat tonight. The show goes real well and we load up and head back to Amsterdam. After the drive, as we are unloading, something seems strange
“Where’s John? Oh Shit! We left him?” [I would have liked to have heard all of this little conversation – DA] We called up the club and, sure enough, he was there.
It seems that at the last second he went back inside to grab one of the cool posters off the wall and ZOOM!, off we went. Matt couldn’t quit laughing. No big deal, John took a train into town the next morning.
April 8, Elektra, Sliedrecht, Netherlands
Not much to say about this one. We opened the show and played to about 35 people. Where is everyone? Fair to partly cloudy reception so we only play about 10 songs and cool it. Then, all of a sudden, the place cleared!
Loveslug plays to about eight people. We found out that most of the people had to catch trains home by a certain time, but that’s no excuse. Does this sound familiar? Uh huh, I thought so. Back to Amsterdam. Sleep.
April 9, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Day off. We need this as we are about to embark on a 20 day torture fest. We rested up and watched “Spinal Tap.” Shades of things to come? Let’s fucking hope not!!
April 10, Rockfabrik night club, Ubach-Palenberg, Germany
The journey begins. Our first show in Deutschland. Huge Place! We play first and do a good show. If all German audiences are like this then things should be great! Other than a couple of crazy guys who seemed to be on some sort of power amphetamines, there wasn’t a lot of crowd participation. That was due in part, I think, to a stage that was about five feet high. I hate that shit! But after each song we got a massive roar of applause. Loveslug then proceeds to tear the place up. So far so good. After the show we drive a couple of hours to stay at this cat named Uli’s house. He writes for “Next Big Thing,” one of the coolest publications on the planet at this time.
April 11, Club Spot, Kassel Germany
A smaller club but it has two stories to cram enough people in to stage a riot if provoked. There’s one guy here whose whole face is tattooed! Reinhard shows up again to witness one of the dirtiest, rowdiest shows yet. Once again, John goes and loses all control and disappears into the crowd. The place is packed so he literally had to fight his way back onstage. He got pretty torn up and should have the scars to remember this one.
Maybe it was the one litre beers they kept pouring us. Well, ok, it was the beer, but hey, these things happen, you know…
Show highlights: Garrett breaks the drum stool and plays “Nashville Nights” rockabilly style, standing up. If you know the song, you can imagine. James had to piss really bad about half-way through the set, but the crowd was diggin’ the show heavily. So he turns around, drops his trousers and pisses in a one litre Weiss bier glass while Mike from Loveslug holds it for him. [I assume he means Mike held the glass – DA]. He fills the glass! Afterwards, we all drive to Reinhard’s and crash at his place. Maybe passed out is a better term.
Show lowlights: The bass amp is fucked up.
April 12, Kling-Klang gastropub/club, Wilhelmshaven, Germany
Great name for a club. It’s also a hotel. Our first hotel, ever! Whoa, big time. Iron Butterfly is going to be playing here soon on their “In a gadda da vida” tour. What the fuck do these people think they’re doing? Can a Sex Pistols reunion tour be far off?
Anyway, it turns out to be a great show and the light man works harder than we do. At least 40 or so lights and then, if you can believe this, a fog machine! I felt like we were Kiss or Queen fer chrissakes!
Show lowlights: Garrett breaks the bass drum head, and wants to kill someone.
Evening highlights: The ceremonious “Hotel room demolition experience”! Lotza fun and no sleep to speak of.
April 13, Stairway, Hamburg, Germany
Cool city! We drive by an ancient church that has been 3/4 destroyed by the bombings of WWII. A tremendous sight to see. They left it standing as a sort of monument. Who knows, maybe some of your own relatives had a hand in this shit. Oh well, I guess someone had to stop that idiot from killing more people on his quest for the “Master Race” somehow.
Very confusing, to say the least.
Where was I? Oh yeah, the show.
Our first whining sound man. He takes over an hour to check Loveslug, complaining about the volume on everything. For some reason they cooperated and were truly pissed. Our turn. After the first bar chord he screams, “No way, it’s way too loud!!” Three words in our defense change his mind: “Fuck that shit,” So, in turn, we make him cooperate. After all, “It’s our show, not yours!” The show turns out to be a killer. A full house of rowdy, sweaty Germans make it a great night.
April 14, Club Ecstasy, Berlin, Germany
This is the wildest thing yet. We pull up to the border that divides the East from the West: barbed wire fences, armed guards, military shit and more fences! We are ordered out of our vans by this ugly guard and have to stand 20 feet away while they search the vans with a dog. I could go on about this forever but space doesn’t allow it. It made me nervous as these guys walked around with pistols seemingly just waiting for something to happen so they could use them. We had to go through six check points before getting to West Berlin!
Great to be free, y’know?
Anyway, the show in Berlin sucked. There were tons of people there but two songs into our set, Garrett completely destroys the bass drum pedal. Broken beyond repair, with no replacement to be found. He’s furious!! Our acknowledgements have now changed to “We’d really like to thank Loveslug for letting us break all of their equipment, thanx guys!”
Happens to the best of us, what the hell? On with the show. Tour lowlight so far.
April 15, AJZ Bielefeld, Bielefeld, Germany
The trip back to WestGermany is the same as going in. Six stops as the guards check the passports several times each time we are stopped. Hey, they gotta be sure cuz if you’re a commie ya just can’t leave True oppression at its finest!
Anyway, Bielefeld is somewhat of a melting pot for hardcore and the turnout is massive. Punk rock at its finest! Wild crowd. I saw what I believe to be the biggest skinhead ever to walk the earth. However, one got killed or went to the hospital. They just made this what it should be: a fuckin’ gas! We met this guy named Ralf who saw us at the Casino Cabaret while visiting Denver. We stayed at the club that night, and the next morning there were more empty beer bottles strewn about than there are cars in the whole U.S. of A.!!
April 16, Logo Club, Bochum, Germany
Gig: It sucked… Awful!
Post-Gig: Great fun and a good way to forget a lousy show. The bartender/owner kept pouring tequila and all the beer you could stomach. His DJ was playing the best music in the world. This was well after the place closed and everyone who was left was bashing around and screaming soccer chants, even chicken slamming. Next morning lots of bodily injuries! Garrett’s ear is infected and bleeding. It’s really great that the doctors are free here. He gets some penicillin and painkillers on prescription. Get well soon bro!
April 17, Rose Club, Koln, Germany
Bullshit from the word go. We get 50% of the door and everyone in the city is supposedly on the ‘media guest list.’ Sure. Oh yeah, the show starts at 9:20pm sharp, the earliest show yet, and that’s not all. The music has to stop by 11. What? Two bands?
Loveslug opens the show and plays until 10:30. Thanx guys! As it turned out, this is probably the best show we’ve played to date. When you’re angry there’s something there that cannot be explained, it just is.
They let us play past the deadline and we turned shit into gold in one hour.
Who’da thunk it?
Next morning: ‘Big interview’ with SPEX, the German equivalent of Spin.
Wowee! Let’s split!
April 18, Old Daddy, Duisburg, Germany
Weird place. It looks like a skateboard park turned upside down. We played a pretty good show while Brett, our driver from Philly, goes to the hospital because his knee is throbbing. After we’re done and sitting backstage, in comes the hospital crew delivering our damaged goods. Well, so much for our driver. Now he’s a complete liability. Shit! He’s sporting a complete leg-cast and we all have to sign it immediately. What a drag, now we have to roadie our roadie! Let’s get some sleep.
April 19, Club Negativ, Frankfurt, Germany
Fatigue is beginning to set in. During soundcheck everyone is cooked.
Sandbags under the eyes and cement shoes. Early show, we have to start at 9:20pm. We go for the short set and drill right through it, ending each song with the start of the next one, stopping only once to catch our breath. The crowd likes it but stands around like pillars. Everyone in Frankfurt chain smokes. That might have something to do with the overall energy level. My eyes are burning but it’s way too cold outside to escape. I’m fried and getting weaker.
Show highlights: Sell lots of T-Shirts and LP’s. Also, fresh air when it’s over.
April 20, Exil Club, Koblenz, Germany
Ahhh! Well rested, we slept like babies. We also got a shower last night for the first time in over five days. Makes all the difference in the world to get clean again. Oh yeah, happy birthday, Adolf! 4/20/1889-4/20/1989.
As I mentioned in the introduction, something really shitty always happens whenever we’re on tour. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
Here goes: We arrive at Koblenz and exit off of the autobahn. We overshoot where we need to be so we get back on going the other way There’s a crawl-space jam-up on the freeway and we pull up behind this car too fast. We stop in time but James, who’s driving the other van behind us, doesn’t! KA-RASH!! He hits us, we hit the car in front of us.
Luckily, nobody gets hurt On the other hand, the van is fucked up. Smashed up front end and the radiator is destroyed. The police arrive and collect everyone’s passport and we all go downtown.
Great! Some of us drive in our van while some go in the police van. The broken van gets towed. We all go into the station and they empty all the stuff out of the van and bring out the dogs. Sorry guys, no drugs.
James and Burt, our other driver, go in for questioning. After about an hour or so we’re all about and wondering what the fuck’s happening. Hey, this is the life. I just love police stations. Finally, they come out and say we have to pay 120 Deutschmarks for some bullshit reason so James wouldn’t have to go to court. We then follow the police to the tow yard and see about getting the van repaired.
Lotsa dollars are soon going to be leaving us. Two vanloads to the club and we soundcheck in front of the audience. We’re in horrible moods but the show must go on. As it turns out, we do a killer set and that helps (at least temporarily) to alleviate the lousy attitudes.
Show highlights: Singing Happy Birthday to Tony with the whole club. Also, we have a hotel.
April 21, Juze Backnang, Backnang, Germany
We are awakened by rude cleaning maids and are promptly rushed out of our hotel. In order to get our van repaired we need approval from the company we rented it from in Holland. While our friends do this, we sit outside of the hotel in the cold rain. Sounds like a great time doesn’t it? Well, we’ll get another van it turns out, but not until late. So we cram nine of us and the equipment into one van and head to Backnang. The others will come later in the new one I hope!
Turns out to be a packed house at the Juze and we play first. All things considered, this is the best show yet. A frenzied crowd surrounds the stage and won’t let us leave Two encores and then, ‘Hey really, we absolutely have to get off the stage. There’s another band so shut the fuck up and clear a path!”
The band room is in back of the club and it took ten minutes just to get there, completely drenched in sweat. Ah yes, everything is great again. Loveslug rocks the house down. The others show up in our new van to the tune of 1,100 deutschemarks. Fuck it, it’s great.
April 22, Jugendhaus Kempten, Kemtpen, Germany
CANCELLED!! I can’t believe we have a day off and neither can John. The club burned down [editor’s note, it’s still there!] and the replacement site didn’t work out. Fine with us, maybe we can do some laundry. Imagine that, clean socks!
We stay with these people who share this enormous house and, lo and behold, they have a dungeon which is filled up with drums, Marahells, a bass rig, a Hammond organ and misc horns. Oh yeah, and a P.A. that you can actually hear Everyone comes down at different times to jam. It’s a day off, but what th’ hell? Forty-five minute jams and blisters on the fingers, playing every instrument available Oh yeah, we watched a James Bond movie on TV dubbed in German. He talked like a pussy. Our hosts were deluxe.
April 23, Spielboden event hall, Dornbirn, Austria
New country Minor delay at the border but we cleared after about 20 minutes. Some bikers were getting the heavy search. I think they even got strip-searched cuz they had to go inside the offices. We play first to an enthusiastic crowd, but, in general, ‘the statue’ is the dance of the night.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that after the show some people invited us to go out to the ‘crazy’ bar and drink more. All of us decline except for John. We go to the hotel and crash while John stays. Only thing is, his ride splits without him So here’s John, stranded yet again, but this time in Austria. So he goes up to this top-dollar hotel and talks the clerk out of a key to one of their fine rooms… Sucker !!
‘Oh sure, I’ll pay you tomorrow Needless to say, John prowls out in the early morning and breezes through the doors like the sneaky, suave fuck that he is.
April 24, Manhattan Disco, Schwenningen, Germany
We play with Mudhoney at this one. We meet with them upon arrival and it’s good to see some familiar faces.
The original club we were booked at was shut down for financial reasons and the show has been moved to the lovely Manhattan Disco.
It could’ve been a good show but Loveslug has a major problem with the promoter from previous experience.
Afterwards it turns out that we are to stay at the promoter’s house. I went to sleep right away but Loveslug tears the poor guy’s house apart. They broke all the strings off of his guitar, even put a hole in it, broke some of his records and, get this, even shit in one of his shoes!! Yeah, it seems there is more to this than I thought. They’re unhappy with the pay, the host, and they hate this guy’s guts. This puts us in a shitty position. Let’s just sleep and get the hell outta here.
If the guy had a gun things would’ve been messy.
April 25, Studentenhaus, Mainz, Germany
We’re woken up by an angry host. He’s been slamming doors as loud as he can all morning. All I could say was something like, Uh, thanks for everything man, sorry about all the bullshit I’m not sure if he even listened to me so I grab the door. He then sticks his head out of the window and announces to everyone that he will make some phone calls and make things “uncomfortable” for us. See ye bro!
Anyway, we play the college in Mainz and a reasonable amount of people show up. We play first and pull off a good one. Hey, I’ve been sick since we left Amsterdam and this is the first show since then that I haven’t coughed all through the set, so I felt really good about this one. Everyone wants to get some good sleep tonight so we hit the sack early. Maybe the earliest yet.
April 26, Kulturzentrum Reitschule, Bern, Switzerland
One of the craziest looking places I’ve seen in awhile. The building is somewhat of an anarchist commune in a huge castle-like structure with every color of paint that you can buy splashed on it. Political banners are draped from the roof and the ol’ anarchy A is spray painted everywhere. [Editor’s note, the Kulturzentrum Reitschule is a youth squat that originated in 1981 after the “Opernhauskrawalle” or Opera House Riots in Zurich where youth tried to take over an Opera House. There police blocked them in Zurich, but here they succeeded, and the Reitschule still is an Autonomous Youth Center or “AJZ” today.]
A very good turn out and we now have a new term: Dog-Punks. It’s almost as though someone had put on the posters to bring your dog to see the Fluid. Dogs everywhere. We played first but by the time Loveslug played everyone was drunk or their drugs took effect. Something or other, but the joint wuz rockin’!!
For Loveslug’s encore, I joined Garrett onstage and sang Search & Destroy and ‘Louie Louie.’
Other than the extra terrible weather, quite a gas.
Three shows left bro, then we be free.
April 27, Hirscheneck Restaurant, Basel, Switzerland
It’s the basement of a coffee house and the homosexual headquarters of Bern that we play in. It’s no bigger than yer average living room with a stage roughly the size of a dollar bill. The PA speakers could fit in your pocket. We blow the power amp during soundcheck but they get another one in time for the show. It serves its strenuous task of keeping the vocals up with the music somehow. Shitty sound and an audience that could pass as a mannequin warehouse make this one a real ho-hummer.
Two shows left, then be we free!
Oh yeah, I think you should also be informed that there is по such thing as swiss cheese, chocolate is illegal here and there are no banks. We’ve been lied to again.
April 28, Circus, Gammelsdorf, Germany
Freezing sleet and three or four massive traffic jams greet us in Germany. By far the worst drive yet. Nine and a half hours in a van in Europe is torture. In the U.S. we do it all the time, but our longest drive here was to be about six hours. Add to that three hours in stand-still traffic and it equals torture. We finally get to the club (via Dachau) at 10:15 and we do our soundcheck while scarfing on the sandwiches they prepared for us. Then we get like five minutes to take off our coats and tune the guitars and hey, ‘It’s showtime!
The whole thing happened so fast it was like a blur, but it was surely one of our better outings. After a two song encore we are informed backstage that they have fourteen hotel beds waiting for us. Sounds good to me.
One more show bro and we’re outta here!
April 29, FZW, Dortmund, Germany
The grand finale. Last show of the tour and not a day too soon. Upon arrival we are welcomed with two crates of beer, bread, cheese, and various lunch meats. Also, various unidentifiable matter which ended up on the wall as we also had a classic food fight!
In a way I could do it all again. What am I saying? Slap me. We would surely lose our voices and what little sense of reality we have left in us. Besides, there are no more shows booked
A lot of people show up and it’s-sardine-style-saturday night-rock-show perfect Loveslug plays first and the soundman is apparently deaf at best. Pure bass and drums with no guitar whatsoever. John and I coax him into making it right and, surprise, he likes it too!
We play a shitload of songs and it seems to go on forever Knowing that it’s the last show of the tour, nobody is hesitant to play any of our tunes, so we play ’em all! As long as the people scream, we’ll play for ’em. Good way to put a cap on everything and breathe a huge sigh of relief. Still can’t believe what we have just done. Where did the month go? What happened?
Well, that’s why I’m writing this, so I can remember. The feeling of accomplishment sets in and we can rest and reflect. In one way it’s gonna be great to be away from the whole crew, and in another it’s kind of a drag.
You should have been there. Where were you?
