Heliocentrics - Out There LP

The title of the album couldn’t be anymore appropriate pushing the boundaries of jazz and hip hop with astral and meditative tracks that demand the attention of the mind. Led by the polyrhythmic-loving drummer Malcolm Catto, the UK collective was first heard on the genre nexus of the universe that was DJ Shadow’s 2006 album The Outsider. The band takes influences from some of the greats; James Brown, Sun Ra, Ennio Morricone, and David Axelrod. The sum of which defies genre - a huge fusion melting pot encompassing jazz, funk, hip-hop, psychedelia, early electronic and global ethnic music.
