Emapea is a Polish producer who has been making some noise over the last five years. Stateside, he is probably best known for his collaboration with Los Angeles emcee Kid Abstrakt on the album Jazzy Vibes, which came out this past summer. Now he’s back with a compilation of tracks, Reflection.
Tracklist:
1. The Winner (2:20)
2. On The Run (3:01)
3. B-Boy Stance (3:05)
4. B-Boy Theme (3:53)
5. Best Believe (3:03)
6. Wicked Sound (3:34)
7. Rudeboy (3:40)
8. Reflection (2:21)
Reflection is comprised of tracks that originally all had homes on a bunch of random releases, spread across several different projects. Emapea is a producer with a throwback approach, digging in the crates and finding the best breakbeats and turning them into the dopest hip hop, and good lord does he put together some fire with this comp. It could be some organ led jazz, it could be some symphonic ‘70s soul, it could be some dub/reggae, but whatever the source, you can be guaranteed that if it’s got a groove, Emapea will find it, flip it, and make something that you can’t help but dance to.
